Hi and welcome to my blog, Seeking Small Wins. I am so happy to share with you all things geared toward making life a little easier. The smallest tweaks to our habits or surroundings can add value to our lives and often save us frustration. This blog is dedicated to sharing hints, hacks, and tips to save time, energy, and sometimes even money! If you are interested in everything organization and efficiency, some things home management (and not taking life too seriously in the process), you’re in the right place.
If you told me 25 years ago that I would enjoy being a stay-at-home mom, I would’ve laughed hysterically. All I wanted was a successful career. During those years, I married my college sweetheart, ran a small business, got my MBA, and had two boys. My husband moved swiftly up the corporate ladder. Unfortunately, his job became very stressful and involved tons of travel. I wanted my boys to have at least one full-time parent, so I dedicated my life to being there for them and managing our home. I’ve always believed that whatever job you are doing, whether retail, fast food, or corporate, you should take pride in it and work at doing it efficiently. I committed to being the best stay-at-home mom I could be. Not perfect. Far from it. Just the best I could manage.
I continually ask myself “what can I do to make our home and lives run more smoothly?” The answer to this question usually results in organizing projects, meal prepping, or other life hacks. When the boys were old enough to be in school all day, my husband’s travel schedule got even worse. I chose not to go back to work full-time. However, I got a part-time job at one of my favorite places to shop, The Container Store. The Container Store is an excellent company to work for and I loved working with my talented co-workers. I helped hundreds of people find solutions to their organizing dilemmas and I learned so much along the way. However, after four years, I was ready to leave retail. I’m excited to share everything I know and new things I’m learning every day. The goal of this blog is to continue helping others become more organized as well as give me a creative outlet in the process. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my tips!
